Go into User CP and look for the notifications.

Uncheck "e-mail notification"

You should not get any more e-mails for new threads that you suscribe to.
However, you may still get e-mails for threads you're currently suscribed to.

Neither box was checked in the first place. I will just cgange the email because I do NOT want all these annoying emails filling up my inbox.

Up on the left side of this page pick User CP. Then go to the Settings and Options section of the next page and choose Edit Options. Scroll down to Messaging and Notification, then find Default Thread Subscription Mode. Change the pick box to 'No email notification'.
That'll do it. It'll still list them in your subscribed threads, but not tell you every time something happens to them.
