how do i wire up blinkers for my rat rod, im using a stock 89 firebird colum

i am building a really low budget rat rod. i have an 89 firebird colum with all the wires still pluged in, i just cut them from the car... im am just not sure how to wire the blinkers up so that it will work and blink, off this colum. i have 1157 bulbs in the back with sockets out of an 80 z28. break lights are on a seperate circuit. and running lights are on the dim part of the 1157 for the turn signal. is their any wireing diagrams out their for this colum or does anyone know how i can make this work??? any help is greatly appreciated... thanks nick.

You need to know the color code of the wires in the column. Then you can figure out what wire goes where.

I take it you are not buying a aftermarket wiring kit. If thats the case, use the fuse box from that same 89 Firebird. Get the whole harness.........The connections should just plug in under the dash, flashers and all....You will still need a diagram to figure out which wires go to the bulbs etc.

well i have already used a boat fuse block and wired up everything from the breaklights to the horn, i even figered out how to use the ignition switch from the 89 colum, i used a ford silinoide on the inside of the firewall so i wouldnt have any hot wires on the outside of the fire wall, so it wouldnt be so easy to hot wire if someone tried to steal it. i just need a diagram or something to work off of to figure this out. i dont have the 89 firebird anymore but if i had an idea on how to wire up the flashers out of a firebird, like a diagram on it, ill go to a salvage yard and pick up the flashers and pigtails off of one...

your column is set up for 2 flashers, but you can use 1
10 amp fused wire to flasher,
tie the brn & pur together coming out of the flasher
any auto parts store will have a flasher
the only other power in is your brake lite sw
off the same fused wire hook in to the brake lite sw
and out to the wht
all the other wires go to lites lf, lr, rf, rr
and blk to horn
