How do you get the inner seal out of the speedo housing on a TH350

I have a TH350 (Chevy trans, not BOP) and I need to replace the 2 seals on the steel housing (bullet) that holds the driven speedometer gear. My question is, how do you get the inner seal out of the housing?

Thanks

I ran into this problem a few years ago, and replaced the whole bullet with an after market unit from a trans shop. it was better made and guaranteed not to leek, think it was twenty bucks, looked billet in nature.

Thanks... I did find that earlier but it says "it is a small lip seal held in with a small wire clip. This is removed from the outside end of the housing with a screwdriver or pick tool" I'll be darned if I can see any wire clip or any way to get the seal out. I dug a good bit of the seal out with a pick. I'm stumped.

The after market speed-O housing with metal clad seal... pry out the seal with a screw driver.

The problem is the small rubber seal in the rebuild kits does not fit the opening... too small.

you need the metal clad seal or buy another housing unit complete like pictured.
