How do you guys do your primer touch ups
The epoxy primer I use takes 4 days to completely cure. Being the impatient person I am I let the primed piece dry for an hour and then move it into my garage to prime other stuff on my work stand.

I try to be careful but every now and then I look at a piece a few days later and there will be a nick somewhere where primer was knocked off and now metal is exposed.

I try to touch it up with some left over epoxy during my spraying frenzy.

I was wondering what others do? Do you guys just touch up with a spray can primer?

You can always spot some on. I hear of guys using spreaders and stuff like that but as efficient as that sounds it also sounds like some is wasted when mixing. Why are you epoxy priming and letting it cure? Are you protecting metal for storage?

I ask cause most people use epoxy as the barrier between paints/surfacers and your metal. It's the most dense of all primers with the best adhesion so it's ideal for DTM applications but in my opinion it's best used wet on wet with a surfacer, meaning you let it kick for about 45 minutes after spraying then apply your surface primer OR paint when used as a sealer.

Yea, I am getting all my sheet metal coated and put away while I work on the body and frame.

For little knicks or even small sand through spots, you can take an acid brush or a small modeling brush and apply it with that.
