Post How do you store an Engine?

I have a 350 and a 330 olds engine sitting in my garage. They are sort of an oily mess and is sort of an eye sore. What I would like to do is put it on an engine stand and clean them up and put a coat of paint on them. This will require the oil to be drained. When the engine is back on its stand and cleaned up, how can i prevent the engine from seizing up on me when in storage. Is there any other helpful hit on storing them? I don't know when i will be using them.

Wrap that puppy up in some shrink wrap. I wrapped my 350 in about 1000ft of shrink wrap like they use to keep pallets of boxes and things together, sealed that thing up air tight, three years later I unwrapped it and it smelled as fresh as it went it...hehe, it was clean, after I got everything hooked up it turned over and ran fine.

The oil thing that Tom suggested is a good idea too, just a bit of a mess to clean up after you go to un-store it, at least for me, but I'm always messy so who knows.
