HEY IROC: Your choice sounds good. Headers or a pain because of high heat output and leaking around flange. My son put headers on 95SS Impala and burned up AC hoses because of under hood temperature. Has $$$$ paint job and is now worried about paint on hood damage..

The headders in my opinion are not worth the additional trouble they cause. They burn up plug wires on a regular basis, leak constantly and cause an extreme ammount of heat build up under the hood of a car like the IROC.

Don't listen to them.. headers are the way to go.. just keep them tourqued... also you probably wanna put a big ol scoop on your car so that it keeps it cool and forces air in...

Headers are a great power-adder and if you are worried about under hood temp. just get some wrap on them before you installe them. If you get the headers that use a bubble flange, you won't have a gasket to burn-out. <img src="graemlins/boxing.gif" border="0" alt="[boxing]" />

Headers are the best mod to any engine.Get a 1 5/8 primary and your ret-ta-go.Kep um torqued to stop leaks like chuhauhau said and get plug wire looms to keep um off the tubes. For underhood heat just make a duct that forces air into the engine compartment that is if it gets that hot.The rest sounds good.
