How on earth....

Hey everyone, I'll get right to the question. When I bought the car from the owner, the guy before him already sprayed the original dash black(which I like) but he didn't do a good job and there's overspray in some places. There were some black spots on the windshield from the paint and today I decided to go ahead and scrape them off with a paint scraper. To my shock, every little black paint spot from the overspray that I scraped off had a tiny hole revealed... I have no idea how this would happen with a glass window, or maybe it's not true glass and some sort of plexi mix, I dunno. Any advice on what to do about this problem, maybe some sort of see through repair and plz don't say scrap the windshield . Holes don't go through all the way, they're just on the inside.

What kind of car and is it a stock windshield? Most windshields are bi-laminates with a membrane in between two layers of glass but a few are tri-laminates with another membrane on the inside, the paint may have etched the inner membrane. Another thing to consider is if the window was tinted, the same this could have happened.

I doubt its welding slag but it "could" be sandblasted particles, not entirely sure though. Oh wait, I remember now he didn't sandblast it because I saw some of the black paint that was chipped off and it had the original red paint under it. It's definately not a stock windshield either.

More Info

When asking questions, even generic ones, it's always best to specify what car you have and any specific information regarding features that would matter.
