For the ash tray hole, cut a horizontal line in the middle about 2" long and then four angled cuts up towards each of the four corners. Fold the fabric onto the back side of the dash and glue the vinyl down. Then just put the ash tray back in to hold the vinyl in place.
Oh, I'm using "Heads up super duty interior adhesive" It works well for the larger areas but lifts up around the curve edges a little, I'm gonna go to Home Depot to find some liquid glue because the spray adhesive gets every where when holding it 8 inches away as recommended. Is there something better out there that I can use. Oh, and I'm gonna try to make door cards when schools ends this summer, What type of adhesives work best on foam, vinyls, and masonite? Yea, Ive never sewn anything in my life, so I'm probably just cut it in the middle and fold it over, lol.
Thanks for your advice on the ash tray now that doesn't seem like something I can screw up, but I can surprise myself sometimes, hahaha..
