I have spark plugs installed in the tail pipes which are ignited by a toggle switch on the dash. Actually there are 3 switches 1 toggle for the fuel pump, 1 for the spark ignition and a momentary for the solenoid. I currently burn kerosene and get flames in excess of 20 feet. To see the set up go to cardomain, chevrolet, belair, year 1954 and you'll see the car....I also installed a backup camera so I can see behind me before I hit the switch.
You seem to know what your talkin about so i'll ask you, I'm going to be putting an injected kit on my car(look at pics.) but my car has bellflower tips on it so I can't put the injectors and spark plugs in the pipes less than 30" from the tip without them being seen. Am I going to have to do it where you can see the parts?

The problem is the metal...the exhaust pipes become red hot after you hit the flame throwers a few times. Which is why it is highly recommended they be at the tips of the pipes. Given your setup could you put them on the inside of the pipes and make your connections through a fabrication in the trunk? By the way your car looks great!!

If you can send me several pics of the rear exhaust from every available angle including inside the trunk, even though you may not be able to see them from the trunk......I'm assuming you want the hardware as concealed as possible. I'll send you some on fire pics in a couple days.

Thanx

Well it looks like your best bet would be coming from the bottom rear of the pipes. If you can angle them (injectors, plugs) slightly they won't be as visible. The more difficult option would be to come from the inside of the trunk which would involve cutting the trunk to expose the area of the pipes for the injector and the plugs. Either way you have some work ahead of you.

What kind of injector should I use, and is there a difference in the look of the flame between gas and running a seperate kerosene tank? I don't want huge flames (about 10') and I want them to be the rolling red/orange. Where in Atl. do you live, I just moved from there a few months ago.
