How to get the trans out?

My friend has a chevy luv that we smoked to clutch to nothing on the other day because he has another one.

We started by pulling the driveshaft(s) off, then the trans bolts that held it to the motor, finished all of these and then started on the back mounts. We have every bolt out of the trans (mounting at least) and when we jack it up it will not slide back so we can drop it out and pull the clutch.

anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks for the help anyone can offer,

Did you?

Pull the cover off that covers the flywheel on the bottom and then you will see some bolts holding the clutch cover to the flywheel..remove those and then the input shaft of the tranny will be loose enough to allow the tranny to slide back..

Sounds like the input shaft is bound in the clutch disk and not allowing the tranny to slide back..takes a bit of jiggling to get one of those out..

When you are ready to reinstall the clutch ask again..
