How to hook up reverse lights?

I bought a jeep with an aftermarket transmission (700r4) in a jeep wrangler... right now, the reverse lights do not turn on when shifting into reverse, the backup lights are set up with a manual switch on the dash.

Is there a way to hook up a switch or some electrical connection off the transmission that would complete the circuit when I shift into reverse so the lights come on automatically? I do not have a reverse switch on my hurst shifter linkage... THOUGHTS??

Sounds like you Jeep is a hack job Do you have a column shift or a floor shifter?

Just noticed this is a duplicate post with one in the trans forum. Since it has more replies I am closing this thread and adding a link to the other thread.
