how long does it take to get heads serviced after taking them off?

how long would it take to have my heads checked for cracks, holes, etc?

if you are only wanting them checked, not machined; a shop can "usually" check them in a couple of days depending on their schedule. if you are in good with the shop, and the have the equipment open they will sometimes do it on the spot.
i guess it depends how good of a customer you are

when i got my heads machined it took about 10 mins, but that wasn't presure checked r anything just to see if they were warpered or had suface cracks.

Where are you located? If your near mid Missouri you can get head magnafluxed with same day service due to fact that the plant I worked at has closed. If they're clean and dry I'll magnaflux them while you wait for free.

If it's a set of small block heads: cleaned, magnafluxed, resurfaced: 1-2 hours if the guy is in a hurry. Plus, we'll check the valve for sealing.
