I ve been slowly workin on this engine for about a month and a half now. The cam was the first thing I replaced. The engine had been bagged up until I replaced the pushrod cover, which was about a week or so. Does that amount of time matter??
If its the grey graphite stuff, dunn worry bout it.
If its that red stuff that looks like thick tranny fluid thats another story. The tech at Comp told me the motor needs to be fired within 5days or it will drip off.Yes I pulled my cam back out to relube it in Crane graphite lube stuff.
Theres a post called "Cam lube the gray stuff vs. the red stuff"somewere in the engine section, where I do a rant on this.
Damn, well, i thought i was almost done. im gonna do an experiment with the lube and old cam. See what it looks like after five days just so im sure i need to do it.
