How long is your driveshaft?

Driveshaft that is..............

I need to take a poll.

I am 2/3's the way through swapping a complete '56 chev driveline into my coupe. (265 powerpack, cast iron 'glide and stock rear...all fresh)

The problem is... the P.O. kept the driveshaft for his '56.

I measured 57"-60"....depending where I position the motor mounts. I can't weld them until I figure out a driveshaft.
I have the yoke......so I just need the shaft.

I was informed that a 62-67 Nova driveshaft, 55-57 chevy driveshaft or 64-67 malibu shft will fit.

Does anyone have a driveshaft out of their 55-57 chev..... that they can measure?
Or '62-67 nova? Maybe something else?

I would prefer to stay old chevrolet for U-joint compatability (local parts store doesn't carry bastard u-joints).

Thanks in advance.

And, YES...........I am too cheap to go have one made.

I would just get the Eng mounted where it needs to be then measure and find a drive shaft a little longer and have it cut down and balanced that is the best way to get it all right!
