Hi gang,
I'm doing some research for my father-in-law and wondered if anyone could help.. Years ago, he owned a 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 w/390 CID engine and 4-speed manual tranny. The car color was meadowlark yellow. I don't have any VIN info, but wondered if anyone would happen to know how many of these were produced that year? Thanks in advance, CHEV66JB |

Check this site out www.classicmustang.com/production_numbers_Mustang.htm
<a href="http://www.ghma.on.ca/hoofprints/articles/69mach.html]Here is a cool page all about the 69 Mach 1[/URL] Sorry I could not find a break down of how many were produced with different options, but these should give you some good places to start looking. Good Luck Cory

I have a 1969 mach 1 390 S code 325 hp, witch was the HP eng. That came with 4V, 4300 carb. and a auto tranny. I got it when I was 16 years old and I still have it. I wouldn't said that was a slug at all.

I have owned my 69 390 S code Mach 1 for 10 years now. It is very hard to find info on the 390's. I have heard that the production of these rare cars hovers around the 1,100 mark. I have read in Mustang Mags that as many as 1200+ were made. I have never been able to find a pin point number.

![]() always room for one more....... Woods428 is correct......Most of the go fast guys wanted MORE than a 390 Mustang could provide. I was 21 in 1969....and a car guy. I looked at a new 69 Mach I with the 390 -C6. For just a few dollars more you could get the 428.. and most did. Ford also muddied up the decision by having a Boss 302 and a Boss 429 .....both better than a 390 Mustang IMHO.The 390 Mustangs were fast enough to have HIGH INSURANCE ....but would not get it done.....late at night...out at the back road dragstrips where folks went to see who has the fastest cars. They were/are nice and getting rarer everyday..... PS ......I bought a 69 Nova SS 396/375 4 speed with a 4.10 gear.....for almost a grand less than the Mach I with the 390. Quicker and Faster for less money. .......... but kinda plain looking..... . |

I have a 1969 Mustang Gt Mach 1 with a 390 that I purchased 27 years ago for $175.00! My brother and I have done quite a bit of research to find out, with the options that I have, about 3300 were produced. Recently we saw a restored one go threw the auction block that brought $120,000.00! Don't let go of that baby!
