How Many Gallons of Paint

How many of gallons should i need to shoot the outside of my 1970 Chevy C10? I am painting the inside of the bed, interior and all undersides myself with a heavy equipment paint. How much would i need to do simply the exterior body?

Depends on the paint. A simple BC/CC non metallic job might require only one gallon or less of base, and one gallon of clear. A metallic, or candy job will require a lot more, possiblt two gallons of each.

a gallon for sure, if it's bc/cc, it'll mix up to twice it's original volume, but don't figure you can get away with less than at least one gallon before mixing.

is it possible to have a mix between a normal clearcoat and the super gloss of candy coat? I want it to stand out and but not go to far. Are there any disadvantages to candy coats?

House Of Kolor makes a candy like single stage that resembles candy without the tri coat process. I never have used it, but I have seen a car painted with it and it looked very nice.
