Post How many have bikes?

Hey I am kind of looking into buying a new Harley Sportster and I was wondering how many of you own bikes. I know HK owns at least one because he has mentioned it before but does anybody else. List the model and year if ya got one, and any comments on it.

Slider has a 1998 Heritage. Advice, unless you are buying the sporty (pigglet) because you are small in stature, buy what you really want. Most people end up wishing they has bought what they wanted , rather thsn settling for what was cheaper. I have seen alot of people tradin in the pigglet for a real Hog at six months. The sporty is a great bike, just not as smooth as the bigger bikes. Slider in Wa.

52 Harley and a 48 Indian both are classic and cherry. If you have never rode a bike before you need to learn one major thing and that is watch the car drivers because most of the time they do not watch for you..
also get with your local abate and take some safety classes it help on insurance rates.

My dad just got a new Softtail Standard. I agree with Slider though. Don't just get a stripped down model. If you are going to get a bike, spend the extra cash and get something you will enjoy for a long time. While your at it, buy me a V-Rod!

Now Mean Cuda, you know that the v-rod is a tokin Harley only right? The gas tank is`nt the gas tank. It is a "WATER" cooler Harley, why that`s un american to Hog riders!!!
Good advice on getrting with ABATE, don`t forget to take a motor cycle safety school too.

Slider, believe me, I know about the V-Rod! I think when I get one (notice the WHEN) I'll probably get a Softtail Standard, a Fatboy, or a Dyna. Although, the current Screamin' Eagle Duece is one hot bike!!!!

Currently: 99 Victory V92C, great heavyweight cruiser, (more american than HD) Highly reccommended! 88 Sportster custom, (pic in photo album) fun for around town, hell on the road for any length of time. I'll be either contracting for or building a big inch Panhead custom this year.

The next "cheapest" HD above the Sportster is the Dyna Super Glide, and that is twice the price. The bike I really want would have to be either the Road King Classic or the Dyna Low Rider. If someone would like to give me eighteen grand to buy one I will give you my Email address. :p

I am defiantly planning on taking a few courses if I do get a bike. From what I've heard if you pass the bike certification class it will lower the insurance on your bike by 30%. Not for sure on that though.

One 1981 Honda CB750F Supersport, good all around "Japanese Standard" that is reliable and owes me nothing (it was given to me with a seized engine). A nice 9000km used shortblock dropped right in and it now runs like new for $300.

I can't complain, but it seriously needs a paint job and the mufflers I built need to be chromed. The previous owner actually painted the bike with a brush...with oil based house paint!!!! <img src="graemlins/drool.gif" border="0" alt="[drool]" />

At least it was black.

Anyone want to see a pic?

Maybe I'll take a little ride up to Georgia and take BBB for a putt, once the weather warms up some.

Please don't laugh. :p I refuse to ride it until it gets some paint and chrome on the mufflers.
