I have a 289 in my 68' mustang. It's all stock. It's got a 2 barrel carb and original air cleaner. But I'm planning on putting a edelbrock performer, an edelbrock 600 carb and a new air cleaner. Is this a good setup?

What do you think my horsepower is now, and what do you think my horsepower will be after I make the adustment?

if its the regular economy 289 its gonna have like 180 hp. if its the hipo motor its gonna have around 280 hp. if im wrong on that one of the ford guys can correct me.

I had a 1966 Mustang with a 289 2 barrel and the factory rated that engine right at 200 horse power. The same engine with the four barrel and intake is rated at 225 horse power. Be sure you use the dual plane design intake manifold. If it doesn't have it already, I would put dual exhaust on it also. I tried headers on mine and it only helped it on top end and I had a lot of trouble with the headers, so I would stay with the stock exhaust manifolds unless that is important to you.

What ever you got now add about 20HP to it w/ the new intake/carb setup.For a stoc/mild motor I'd use a duel plane intake.
