How many residual pressure valves?

Hello there. I was wondering if I needed a residual pressure valve in my front brake line as well as my rear. I know that the rear needs a 10lbs. one, and I'm assuming that the front does as well, but I figured I'd ask first. I've got an old truck with all wheel drum brakes. I've added a power booster and an 80's style GM truck master cylinder. I'm redoing all of the lines as most were missing or mangled and there was no sort of inline brake valve to be found. Thanks

It depends on where your master cylinder is located at.if it is below the calipers you will need at least a 2lb valve for the front to prevent fluid from flowing back from the calipers into the master cylinder. if it is above the calipers then you wont need it.but if you are running 4 wheel drum brakes then i would go with the 10lb in front also. cole

You will need 10lb residual valves in the lines to all axles with drum brakes (some master cylinders have them built in). If you have the 10lb valves installed, you won't need a 2lb residual valve, even with the master cylinder under the floor. You will likely need a metering valve, and possibly a proportioning valve (I like the Wilwood adjustable units). Check out the link below for more info...
