back when I was younger I was in a band 17-32) and played guitar/keys some nights the frontman would have a few to many and the bassist and I would have to sing.. we saved the triumph/keel/mollyhatchet/ac/dc)-bon scott (me) and the rainbow/deep purple/ac/dc brian johnson(him) for the end of the night, just incase the singer got tip'sy.. and if I had enough buzz. I could get one journey or quennsrych out of me before my voice said, sorry your done..lol
lucky for me it be the end of the night and the crowd would mostly be looped, as I don't sing all that well.. at least I don't think so..
I'd have stage fright if I try'd it now.lol

Last year my son asked me to come to his studio and lay down some blues harp and keys on a few tracks of a CD that a friend of his was doing so I did. When I listened to the playback, I made that decision that most Senior pickers have to make or should make and sold all my equipment and instruments to my other son the next week. Now all I play with is Mama and the TV.

Nathan told me Friday night he wanted me to sing Blur's "Song 2", I told him that I hadn't heard it in a very long time and I would listen to it and give it a try one of these nights so I listened to it a couple of times Saturday and Saturday night he really wanted me to give it a try so I did. I thought it came out pretty good. WOOHOO! It kind of reminded me of when I sang at some weddings in the 80's and one bride was a really bad procrastinator. She decided on one song two hours before the wedding and it wasn't something I was real familiar with but it came out all right.

I seem to have a fan club, or whatever you want to call it, that insist on me singing "Peaches". They all seem to be around my son's age and they seem to really enjoy it. One of the boys that was in my son's class came up to me one night and told me that I had introduced that song to him and he loves it. My wife told one of the boy's mothers that it's good for my ego.

Anyhow, I have a lot of fun doing it. I have been videoing some of the other guy's performances for them. One of them was going to use the videos for an audition DVD to "The Voice". I'm thinking about sending one in of me for grins. The next thing we are going to do is hook a voice recorder to the sound system to cut out most of the bar noise.

The only one of my performances that got taped this weekend was "When I'm 64". I didn't know I was singing it until I got up there. If I don't pick out a song in advance, they pick one out for me when it's my turn at the mic. I have sang it before though and they enjoy it. Mickey is adjusting the sound during the song, you can see him playing with the knobs.

Creech, I'll have to agree with you. That little Lady can sing. Little did Dolly Parton know that she was giving so many young female singers a tool to really showcase their awesome voices with.

When Connie was on Britan.s Got Talent ,Dollie said the song should have been written for Connie she sang it better than any one including Whitney.also Elvis tried to buy the song Dolly would not sell it ,Connie ahs several new songs i think she is about 111 or 12 now?? Had a wingdingy of a time Friday night. A bunch of the regular guys got up and had some fun. I've never seen most of these guys get up and sing.
