how much do you deduct from car price for every rock chip?

so you start out with a brand new restoration with brand new paint. you drive it once, get a rock chip say about 1/8" in diameter. not talkin about dings here. say this car is worth $30,000 they day it's painted. lets say this is a std color paint and i have plenty of paint left over. i can either fill the chip or re paint the front valence. no flames/stripes etc. ect shall we include ohhh, i dunno, white racing stripes??

how much is it worth with 1 rock chip?_________
2 rock chips?________
3rock chips?_________ etc. etc.

how many rock chips does it take to mean subtract for a new paint job? lets assume we wont count the rock chips thrown up by our own wheels, but the ones in our front end. my painter said he could repaint the front of my tempest for $1000. is that the upper limit of what i should have to deduct? this means the wheel well chips have to stay as well.

Or how much do you add?

I put the 2001 rover up for sale Saturday and it looks like 30,000 miles but has a 174,000, its perfect but front of hood has a quarter inch chip and a lot of sandblasting type of effect from expressway (drafting).
I was going to paint the hood this weekend but both people that called said they would rather buy it as is. The one guy is flying in next Tuesday from Michigan to pick it up and his feeling is the originality is worth more (unpainted) because the rest of the trucks condition.
He is a dealer, so I guess he would know.????
There is no deuction on price for me not painting the hood.

Got to love that auto trader on line.

Well I’d figure if it’s a NEW 30,000 restore then the at least the price of feathering the chip out and repainting the part would be fare and not a penny more or less, that is if it was sold as a new restore.
