How much material waste with GFG-670 over an HVLP?

I'll be borrowing my friends Plus gun to shoot my 67 fastback instead of buying a lower end gun, but just messing around with it, I noticed the air pressure has to be quite high, and it creates a lot of overspray. How much material will I be wasting shooting one car with this, vs using a true HVLP?

I'd just like to minimize waste so I have a bunch left over should i need it. I'll be shooting Prospray base (It says acrylic on the can.. Not sure if they have more than 1 type) in a dark metallic charcoal.

I shot with a plus for over a year in a production shop and my air was set at 28-32 psi. That's where most guns are. Overspray was minimal(of course that's in a production booth and not in a garage with crappy air movement. The few OUNCES of paint you might save doesn't compare to the peel you will have to wet sand off later. I could get the paint/clear to lay slick with the plus.

Thanks for the reply! I noticed a few said they shoot the Plus at high 20's psi.. BUt the devilbiss regulator has a marking for the plus which seems to be at about 35-40.. Seems a tad high for me? Really caused a hurricane.. Am I safe to dial it down a little? What disadvantages? Worse atomization?

I shot it at 28psi and it layed paint down slick. I've been painting for 23 years so, I make slight adjustments when I start to paint for the way things are laying out. I don't even notice I do it, it become so second nature. I really liked the gun and for the price, I would choose it over a sata.
