how much oil can the distributor gasket leak on a sbc?

ok i know i always end up rambling so i'm going to try and control myself this time. had a pretty good oil leak come up yesterday after driving at 4000 rpm down the highway going to work (th350 trans) it leaked about a quarter quart of oil in 20 miles. i figured that i had blown the rear intake seal because of too much crankcase pressure. but today as i start tearing it apart, i find that when i installed the distributor that i kinked the gasket so it wasn't sitting properly. the question is, do you guys think that the distributor would leak that much or should i go ahead and pull the intake off and re seal it while i'm almost there? i should probably just do both so i don't have to take everything off again if i fail. but just looking for some other opinions. thanks guys

back in that area on a sbc, you will find a small tapped hole for the oil pressure sending unit. You may give that some attention as well. I have heard that sometimes others have forgotten to tighten or seal the sending unit... others have relocated it & left it out completely during a rebuild.

...just sayin'.
