just a question, and it might be in the wrong forum, but how much are you guys paying for welding gas- c02 & argon? Its like 40cf for 135 here... am I paying too much?

About 2 mos ago I paid about $40 for a 55cf refill. I just looked at Tractor Supply and it's $140 plus tax - OMG!!!!! Looks like I'm going back to splatter and flux core wire until it settles down

Since I now have that nice new flow meter - it's already about as far down as it will go without shutting it down

Last refill exchange I got on my 80 was $36 here. I called around and they were anywhere from that $36 to $58 exchange. Sounds like you guys have some really high prices in your areas.

I'm guessing that TSC price includes a bottle too. It's only like $20 or $30-something for me to fill my 40-something. I don't remember what size it is.

19.95 for a refill/exchange of 75/25 for my 90CF i keep for my Lincoln 180 wirefeed..

I paid 95.00 for the bottle filled a few years ago..just checked into maybe buying one to keep around with 100% argon for stainless..has gone up to 140.00 for the bottle filled...i passed...if i need to weld stainless he said i could just trade mine in for an argon bottle with no charge and when done bring it back to swap back out for the 75/25

yea, I bought my 40CF bottle from TSC, and it was $160 and change with gas. usually $44ish when I go to them for an exchange..

Im filling this same set up tomorrow in Louisville KY.. I will post back as to what it will run me..

I buy from a company called Scott Gross.. Purchased my bottle etc from them years ago..

As for the flux core wire.. I tried some of that today since Im out of gas on some sheet metal.. Been about 12+ years since I tried any.. I remember why I dont use the stuff .. Worthless for body work/sheet metal work
