How to replace a 71 Nova headliner

My headliner is trashed. I was wondering what is involved with replacing the headliner myself. Is it a task that I shouldn't even think about doing? I am in no hurry...I have nothing to lose....and I figure that I can add this to my experience log (if it all goes well).

Any information would be helpful. What tools I'll need, materials, any advice, anyone willing to give me their old tools or materials would be awesome. If there is a detailed site that I can would help me out.

Let me know of anyone's past experience with headliners.

thank you for the help..

So-Cal Jay

Check the archives. Several answers to this question. If you have no experience in convert tops, vinyl roofs or headliners..Let the pro's do it. It's cheaper in the long run. Many cars have to have the front and rear glass removed. NOTHING detracts from a cars looks like a poor headliner or top install..

Most gearheads get frustrated in the middle of the job and end up taking it out to have another one done correctly.
