Post How to tell if its 4 bolt

I have the pan off the motor its a 79 350. What do i look for? I am not sure which bolts to count

You will want to look at the bolts that hold the main caps on. If it is a 2 bolt, you will only see 2 bolts holding the main caps on. If it is a 4 bolt, there will be 4 bolts holding the caps on. *except for the 2 end caps*

Example below:



Now this is a Buick engine, but the mains will look like this if it is a 4 bolt.
