How tight should rocker arms be

Hey guy I was told that you should tighten the rockers all the way down and then back them off 2 1/2 turns. Is that true? Is there a torque spec?

Small block chevy's have a adjustable valve train so no there is no torque spec. Whoever told you how to adjust them was wrong as well. I adjust them with the engine running that way I can listen to the engine and see what it likes and be finished with it in 10 minutes. Most guys perfer the other way which is adjust them with the engine not running.
This link will tell you how it's done.
