how's my 383 build going??
Scat9000 crank scat pro comp I beam 7/16 screw, icon forged flat tops, 11.1 w/64cc heads, this is a 383 stroker the rods are 6", my question is what type of head to use with my setup its going to be a bracket motor,I already have a .500/.500 246@.050 302 advertised flat tapet cam I plan on using. Thank you all , any info appreciated
With that compression i'll assume it's a race engine. Do you already have the parts?
Yes I lack the heads and intake, I'm just not sure about what head to use
I've heard good things about Dart heads. But if you're on a budget a lot of guys use the Patriot freedom series 800 bucks ready to run is hard to beat.
Procomp 210's, buy them bare, assemble and check everything yourself. Clean up the casting and bowl area.
if you have the money large port vortec heads are great too. |
for ar ace engine, buy the heads first then match the cam to the head flow numbers.
What bracket is your car in? what kind of car? |

Op can you give us a link to the cam specs? |
The cam is crane energize .500/.500 valve lift 246@.050 302 adv. Rpm range 3500-6500, I have been looking hard at patriots
I like the patriots. Same specs as the more expensive brands. Only reason they're cheaper is because you're not getting the big name that goes witht the higher cost pieces.
That's what I thought, now my only concern is will I have piston to valve clearance using a 2.08 valves?
