How's My Stitching?

It's been close to a year now that I've been interested in upholstery work. I've asked a million questions and thankfully got a million answers. My education from this board beats anything that I've ever learned in any subject in college by far. Last Feb, I purchased my first industrial machine and was intimidated as hell by it. As time went by, I changed the pulley and motor and also learned how to adjust the pedal to my comfort level. I have more practice stitching laying around here than you can imagine. My big thing was learning how to stitch straight. For me, cutting down the speed of the machine and learning how to throttle was the answer. Here's a couple of pictures of some square stitching I did the other night. Tell me how I did. Stumpy from the UK inspired me to try this. I found it to be great practice to learn how to sew straight. I used the silver ink pen in order to plot things out - I'm not good enough to do it freehand yet.I used 401 to clean the ink off.

Thank you! That panel is approx 19" x 10". It only took me an hour or so ( no pun intended) to do it.

That looks sweet as. Why worry about freehand , a silver line to follow makes life easier. When I did mine I wanted more of a diamond than a square , so I marked out on the 20" x20" vinyl 3" intervals down both sides , then using these marks I marked 2" intervals across the vinyl with upside down T's , then joined them up to give 3" x2" diamonds. Ive got some more to do this week on perforated vinyl with double stitching. I will post up pics as I do it . Keep at it mate. Ade .
