HP Books: Small-Block Chevy Marine Performance

Has anyone ever read or heard anything about this book? The title of the book is "Small-Block Chevy Marine Performance" by Dennis Moore.

There isn't much literature on Marine Performance out there and I came across this book. Apparently it isn't being published anymore for some reason. The cost of the book is about $200.00 used. I'm not really interested in paying this much for a book but if it helps me in selecting the right part(s) then it would be well worth it. If I chose the wrong cam or carb and this book would have set me straight then it would be money well spent, I think?

I finally decided to buy the book. I watched it on Ebay for a while and the seller kept dropping the price. I have been reading through the book for the last few days and there really is a lot of info in this book. The book talks about EVERYTHING involved with the engine. From ignition all the way to block modifications. I think/hope it will end up being a good buy.

Ayuh,... I just found yer post, Sorry...

Yes, I bought a copy of Dennis' book, back before it went outa print...
It's known as the SBC marine bible...
Dennis also has a book out on BBCs...
I've got 'em both here at my desk...

I hang out at iboats forums, where I'm a Mod...(stop on by sometime, We can always use another Motorhead )
We see Hot Rodders over there quite often, tryin' to use Hot Rod Car ideas to build their boat motors...
As you well know, the basics are the same, but techniques, 'n parts choices are Very different...

There's no black science in buildin' boat motors,...
Ya just gotta build for down low Torque, rather than 7 grand Horsepower....
Main concerns bein' exhaust reversion, 'n rusting parts...

As for Dennis,....
Back 'bout 10 years ago, I sent 'im a bunch of Ford/ Mercruiser parts for a project he was considerin',....
To date, I've yet to see the agreed to cost reimbursement, much less the other stuff he promised...

Oh well.....
