I had the same problem. Check to see if the fuel filter is plugged. It sounds like it is not getting enough gas at the higher RPMS. I just fixed the same problem. It could also be that the gas tank is not vented and keeping from letting enough fuel to the carb. Like they always say on this forum, check the easy stuff first.
