hurst line lock

OK, here's a question i'll be suprized if somebody answers. i have the old style hurst line lock, it is supposed to be rebuildable. it has the solinoid in the center and a body on each side where the brake lines go in and out. each end peice had a flat on it for turning, i figured they were threaded into the center. each end turns easily and independently--they don't screw out, there are no snap/retaining rings visible. any body ever taken one of these things apart??? i want to rebuild/glass bead/repaint it. how does this darn thing come apart???

i checked the hurst web sight and it is totally useless...

well now that you ask i just went out and looked an could see nothing so i hit it with the wire brush in one of my bench grinders ti bust the surface rust off. it says:

12 VOLT
WHEEL CYL
S/NO 1328

(I THINK THE LAST # IS AN 8, COULD BE A 3 BUT IT LOOKS LIKE 8)

even if i could find an exploded view i could figure out how it comes apart.

the early line lock was not rebuildable, it is identified by the center case having a crimped edge on each end, the flats are to hold the line lock from turning while you tighten the brake line, not to unscrew the line lock assembly. yours is most likely this model. I have a rebuildable unit on my roadster, it is not a steel solenoid casing, but aluminum, and has a snap ring securing the end that unscrews. hope this helps!
