Hurst Promatic 2 shifter

Is anyone here familiar with the Hurst Pro-MAtic 2 shifter for the 700r4 / 200-4r?

Hurst's website is useless.. no e-mail contacts.. the FAQ's aren't really much help either...

my promatic-2 (For the 700r4) lets me downshifts two gears at a time (from O.D if I pull all the way back, I can hit 3rd, then L2) but can only go up 1 gear at a time.. this is great (for now) makes the drop from o.d to 2nd to pass real easy on the street ... BUT... I'm considering a full manual, reverse pattern valve body for my 700... the shifter doc's say it can be used for either normal or reverse pattern.. but the docs are also only for the 3spd shifter (even the ones that came with my 4spd shifter)..

does anyone know if it's possible to modify the ratchet mech to work 'backwards' ? so I can go up 2 gears at a time (towards park) and down only 1? being able to UPshift two gears at a time will not be good on the track!
