hurst transmission
I just bought a 74 pontiac GTO and the linkage keeps on sticking in reverse wut should i do or look for. now im only 16 so i dont know much about car so i really need some help. If yall could help id greatly apreciate it

Several things could be happening. First check the linkage for any loose bushings,loose arms(on the trans as well), if that's o.k adjust it, usually (if it's a Hurst shifter as the post implies) you put the shifter in neutral and disconnect the rods, run a 1/4 inch rod or drill bit through the hole at the top of the shifter base and then install all the rods adjusting as neccesary to get them to slip into their respective holes.
