Question Hyd. Roller lifters on Solid roller cam

Hey guys, I have a factory 350 roller block I am building. I picked up a solid roller cam real cheap (free) and I love the specs.
236 duration @.050 and .543 lift w/ 1.5 rocker.

I want to know if I can use it with the hyd. roller lifters. I've heard that you can't but I don't see why not. This not an extreamely agressive cam.

Putting this in my 89 chevy SB. 383 10.7-1 comp., trick flow heads, old style torker intake ported, shorty headers, 700r4 trans, 3000 stall, 8.5 posi with 3.73 gears. Runs 11.90 @125mph on street tires with 125 shot of nos after 60 ft. Still trying to hook up.

You have to use solid roller lifters, the ramps are different on the cam

solid cams have a clearance ramp built in, if hydraulic lifters are used it makes the duration of the cam way out of range.

But wouldn't the hydraulic take up the slack considering equal diameter rollers? I don't see the mechanical reason why you couldn't do this, I have never tried it? Unless the diameter of the roller changes why wouldn't this work?
