hydraulics help

i recently bought a 79 malibu that has hydraulics on it the kid i got it from put trans fluid in the pumps and now the front cylinders are leaking so i was thinking about switching it back to the stock coils and shocks BUT they cut the shock mounts off when installing the hydraulics how safe would it be to make new mounts for the shocks if i decided to do this i like the hydros but they ride like crap

atf is red so you can see yor leaks ? as far as the ride did they mount the cylinders srtaght to the frame or did they mount with springs simler to coil over shocks ? as for the leek a litle brake fluid will work wonders
