I could use some help with an engine ID

I just aquired a Chevy 350 Engine. The price was right.......free . I'm trying to find out what year it is and what model chevy it came out of. The fellow that gave it to me swears it came out of a 1968 Corvette. I'm not so sure about that . I've checked all the places I can find to identify it and I'm not coming up with anything that makes sense. It's set up for a Quadrajet......no carb....just the manifold. The number on the passenger side of the block is V0128TDD. There is another number stamped in the same place. That number is CEA139986. I'd appreciate you help. I've been searching all over and it finally dawned on me that this is the best place in the world to find imformation on anything like this. That's what makes it such a great site. Thanks in advance guys. I'm sure the answer will be coming soon.

Chris
