My 96 Riv kept refusing to start...I changed the started it still refused to start as in nothing when you turned the key..then I noticed the security light blinking on and off??? CKed my service receipt from when it went to the dealership for service and they said they changed the battery in my hand held remote but they didn't. I found out later at radio shack that the battery was dead and giving and error signal to the security system and not allowing me to start my car? I called the dealership and thanked them for what they did...they apologized and said they forgot to change my battery as I requested. Just great GM service I have learned to accept....NOT!

Well, I ended up going off the road and through a fence last Christmas in my 96 F-150 because it turns the brakes off when it sees a tire skid. I went off a corner and didn't even leave a scratch mark in the gravel road I crossed even though I had the brake pedal planted. Useless crap. Just like those security systems. Who even lookks up when a car alrm is going off anyway. Useless crap.

Excuse me for sounding dumb, but what do you mean "it turns the brakes off" when it sees a tire skid? If the brakes were shut off where they would not work, that sounds like grounds for someone getting their hiney sued off. So you mean there are many cars out there that at any time can be running around without brakes?
