I Got the go ahead...New 383 Build
Hi All,
After spinning a rod bearing in my 350 2 months ago I finally have the ok from the BOSS LADY to rebuild... Here is my plan... Since this is going to be my daily driver to and from work it has to run on pump gas (91 octane) and be street friendly... Going into a 1965 El Camino 700r4..2800 stall and 373 rear end Please advice on correct parts and combo.....dont want to make the same mistake as before.... only have $2800 to spend 1. 383 roller block..............................(have) 2. Dart Pro1 215 heads.........................(have) 3. 6" rods hbeams................................(have) 4. 9000 SERIES STROKER CRANK 3.750 5. SRP FLATTOP PISTONS 383...............(thinking 11-1)..???? 6. TOTAL SEAL MOLY RINGS 7. CLEVITE MAIN BEARINGS 8. CLEVITE ROD BEARINGS 9. ISKY HYDRAULIC ROLLER.505/.530 Part#: 261272/282 (help??????)_ 10.sbc chevy hydraulic oem replacement lifters set of 16

it seems like you got most of your parts already.I'd put some money into beefing up that trans and I would use a .041 head gasket thickness if youre block is zero decked to get it to run on pump gas.A larger cam would be better for pump gas maybe 12-433-8 from comp
