Hi everybody i need a little help here is the info i have a 1983 chevy silvrado with a chevy 350 and a 700R4 tranny it is 4 wheel drive . here is my problem it will not shift out of first gear even with WOT i have read some post on here trying to figure out the problem but i am stuck i have the valve body out and i have checked the valves and they all seem to move freely the fluid looks brown and i dont know what the residue is on the bottom of the pan ? it has 1st gear, reverse,and neutral, im hopeing some on can help me out ? also how the heck do you take the valves out of the valve body ?
could the residue be a burn cluch?
Also i bought the truck this way the guy told me he was going to a friends house and when he trid to leave it whould not shift out of First gear.
