Cheap and easy way to get more power without spending a lot of money is just a cam change and dual plane four barrel intake and carburetor. It all depends on what you want out of it and what you are willing to spend. As for ID on the heads, it is the six digits cast into the top of the heads between the rocker studs. If you give me the stamping numbers with the suffix on the block deck, right in front of the passengers side head, above the water pump, I can tell you more about the engine that you have. I may be able to tell you a little about the heads, but there are other guys on here that could tell you much more, when it comes to the heads.

305 heads work fine on 350's when you just want lots of low end torque, they raise the compression ratio a lot also, but hey have very small valves and don't let them rev up well.

I have a 350 with 305 heads in a C30 dually, its a very good motor, for that big truck, I would hate it in a camaro.

mid 70's truck 350 is like 7.5 to one..
the 305 heads will wake it up. but limit it's rpm..
if you can, as seen as you need a 4 barrel intake anyways..
I'd look at vortec heads..they have 64 cc chambers.. you can find them in 96-99 trucks and up to 02 vans.. or buy new,320.oo you have the 305 heads, so use them.. get a intake and a carb.. and go..
I'd find a alum. intake off a 80-87 g.m. car/truck and a q jet.. as the 305 heads are gonna linit your rpm.. to 4000rpm..
have fun

I'd even trythe 2 barrel intake..
