I have a 94 camaro 3.4 it what go it to overdrive

i have a 94 camaro 3.4l and it what go it overdrive and if you drive it all day then it will go in to overdrive some times what can be the problem with it i can go 55 and 60mph and the tack is at 3 and 3 1/2 rpms and us a lot of gas pless help me.

Are you certain that the converter just isn't locking up? Do you feel any change while shifting it from D to OD, manually? Do you have any check engine lights? Are the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts OK? The 4L60E uses the 3-4 clutches and the 2-4 band for 4th gear. The 4th piston part of the 2-4 servo applies the band for 4th gear. While it is possible to have a piston or sealing ring problem, it isn't common in a 60E.

94 camaro

the only light on is the abs light it shfit go in 1 2 3 just not od it dont slip non i can drive 25mis and it us all most half a tack of gas but win the od works it reel good on gas i am just trying to find out how to fix it and what the probem and can a 3.8l auto trans work on the 3.4l
