Getting real info is like pulling teeth. My guess is he bought the car from someone, painted it, and is now trying to flip it. I asked a million questions but only get answers to a select few. I know full well right from the start when I looked at the engine bay pic that this thing ain't gonna twist 500 ponies. I asked about suspension, rear gears, housing and trans. He told me it has a B&M stage three trans and 3800 rpm converter. Completely evaded the rest of the questions. I'm thinking he's pretty much going on what someone else told him and he's clueless. Said the engine was built by Wausau Engines. After I told him that running chevy iron heads, intake and exhaust manifolds is like trying to run a marathon breathing through a soda straw I haven't heard back from the guy.

I'll see if I still have the pics. I'll post it.

You can find 3rd gens much cheaper than that, you just have to get out of the U.P. Also we have no shortage of trucks with 305 or 350s in them, guys around Marquette just scrap them when the rest of it rusts away. Im going to bet its a rattle canned 305 with an intake and what looks like a 750 or 780 Holley on it. He is so full of it his eyes should be brown.

Whoa. NOT a pretty picture. I think you were right being skeptical of this deal. Good job by you- and shame on him.

I'd offer him 12 to 15 for it cuz the body is nice and I could throw some headers and intake on it and make a few bux. He did tell me that there is a DZ stamped on the front pad. But, the block could have been decked and someone restamped it for all I know. I'm passing on it anyway.

Just about spewed my coffee on the computer when I seen the picture LMAO...9300 rpm?!

Anyone notice the missing fuel line clamp on the Holley feed, I wonder if it even runs.

Run don't walk, if he's willing to lie about all the other things that are obvious BS...you have to wonder what else he's lying about.

Was that Holley used for a bar-b-que pit? I'm surprised it even ran. And the rest of the engine - doesn't look like it has ever been out for "upgrades".

Good pass on that POS

Was that 500 HP before or after the plug wires were burnt and shorted on the "headers"? The only thing you could confirm is the converter. Oh, and just because you might get it to stall at 3400 doesn't mean it's a 3400 converter - it likely means the worn out trans is just slipping since it hasn't had the pan off since '90. For anyone not able to tell from my tone, I'm calling BS on ALL counts. 500 HP ain't happening through all those stock parts. Was there another engine in the trunk for the other 250?

But it has "full race porting" and I think those are the high speed wire ties under the hood

Right there - "full race porting" is the weak link. That's 2 steps below "ULTRA super duper porting". "Ultra" is the tops and can't be beat - even on a double dog dare. Some of the pimply faced friends of this seller may be buying his bull$chit, I don't think too many in this crowd are biting - even those following the thread including small blocks running "poorly" 180 degrees out of time. Geeze... Liars all need to be kicked in the nutz repeatedly so they can't reproduce. Also because I just think it's funny to watch.

I just looked at the pic again and saw the choke was removed. That changes everything! That alone should make up the 250 HP shortage I was seeing before.

people lie...... This person is. If you want to do something with the car convince yourself that it is a 305.... cause it probably is... if not maybe a stock 350 but the way it seems its gonna be all halfassed and jacked up. This guy is LYING to you!!!!!
