I heard the wonderful sound...

Of the engine running in my '29 Dodge this weekend.
Purred like a kitten.

Then I heard the not so wonderful sound of the lower radiator hose blowing off, blowing all the antifreeze all over the garage...

I had a copper adapter because the engine hose size is different than the radiator hose. I didn't have a ridge on the pipe and I painted it.
I think the paint got slippery when it got hot
and no ridge allowed the hose to slide off.

Fixed both problems after using 20 lbs of kitty litter to clean up the mess.

Yes Victoria, you should have ridges on your radiator hose adapter.
and no paint on the metal adapters.

But it runs!

Same thing happened to me with a chrome water pump. Made one heck of a mess.
