Speaking of stickers....I would love to find an old sticker that I had on my car in the 70s.....It's an old Appliance Headers sticker. It has a vulture sitting on a set of headers....I have an old beat up one on my tool box, stuck on with black stickyback.
Anyone know where or how I could duplicate it? Sorry about the quality, still sorting out the new camera.........

Hey poncho if you really interested in making stickers, ebay has some stickermakers.. i think ive said this in the past but, my buddys dad got a sticker machine thing from ebay for 20 bux. it makes really nice window decals, they hold up well too. Ive had a taz sticker and a hatchetman (icp) sticker on my back window for months now and they are still good as the day i put em on. just load the image you want to be on sticker in the prograqm and print away, any sticker imagineable...to a certain size tho. really nice little contraption no bigger than a basketball.

How do they work?
I take it you need special clear paper (vynil) to print on. Is it readilly availible?

The how they do it part im not sure of. But when he gave it to me it was like a wax type brown paper with the sticky ink stuff that got printed between it and plastic. how the ink got between the plastic and wax paper i dunno, mabey it prints it then when its coming out the plastic is put on. Some of the ones you can get on ebay come with the paper, otherwise i think you gotta buy it. It still decently priced, cheaper than stickers...
works like any other decal peel the plastic the ink sticks to it, then rub it on like window tint, pull the plastic and ink sticker stays. |

Does this little machine print it, or just laminate it?
Anybody have one of these and know how they work? Just trying to get the gist of it.............................

Poncho,
That looks like a laminator. I've got an old model that I use to preserve old, fragile tool instructions, etc. |

yes any ink jet style printer can do it. you need the ink for transparncies and the transrecy paper. its probably cheaper than buying the sticker and you can make a bunch. i triesd to post a few examples but my smallest scan at size 0 is 2mb.
i constantly re arange my display. they last longer than the sticker itself and when it wears out just print a new one! |

that pic u posted ponch looks like the thing my buddys dad has. Like a little plastic cube bout that size. Dont know about the one in the pic, that could be a laminator or it could be a sticker maker??? im not too sure.
im thinkin mabey theyre like this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...186856688&rd=1 no clue on what size it does tho..... |

I figure from what I have read about these machines, is that they just put the sticky stuff on the back of the material that you have already printed on. You need the transparent material, print it, and then put it through this little machine to put the sticky material on.....
Also, is the print sealed in somehow? Anybody know if this is right?

what? no! no stickey stuff! use the static transfers and a deskjetHP. why are you buying all that? use what came with your computer. the "paper" is in a kit at bestbuy for like $12.
or what, do you want to make a bumper sticker? |

My buddys' got a bunch of stickers in his shop, I'd like to find one that says: If you think OSHA is a town in Wisconsin, you might be in trouble..or something to that effect. Anyone seen these anywhere? Ponch, do they still make Appliance headers?

No, they were bought up years ago....I think they are Blackjack headers now....or were. Not nearly as good. I had the Appliance on my LS6 Chevelle......Big tube, equal length..........fit real well. I also had Appliance wheels...better than Cragars, at least they didn't rust as bad.
