I grew tired of my Buicks faded rusty stock pink paint and couldnt afford a paint job so I thought I would try somthing different. My local 99 cent store has quarts of Rustoleum for 99 cents each. The color is semi gloss black which I color sanded and rubed out.(it turned out looking like old faded stock paint.) The flames were added about 6 months later. Also rustoleum mixing colors to get the shade I wanted. It turned out suprisingly good. total investment less than $100.00

Looking good
It lookd real good. the body was real straight to begin with. I sprayed 2 heavy coats of satin black. I sprayed first thing in the morning but still had a thousand bugs in the paint. My friends named it bugzilla when they first saw it.(it looked kinda fuzzy) I waited about 2 weeks then I color sanded them out and buffed it smooth as glass. most people that saw it thought it was an old gloss black paint job. Me and a friend did the flames the weekend before paso 2001. I laid them out freehand witl 1/4 tape and my friend came behind and masked them. It took us about 6 hours start to finish with a bunch of beer breaks. Not bad for our first flame job .
Thanks for the complement Dawger |
