I have some bar clamps just like that.....I will remember from now on to try not to overtighten them. But I have used them several times without any problem.

Well sometimes we tend to over tighten clamps at the shop to the point of bending the lil handle 90 degrees. I still dont think good cast iron should snap under that kind of load. We will just have to see how the other clamp holds up.

^^^ I should have knocked on wood! The (other) clamp broke today. Same deal. Crappy cast iron. You get what you pay for. No big deal. I'm not ready to make another frankenclamp, but I guess I will.
