Slider, its worse than crack isn't it. Most of the guys I know down here are pretty hard core and they ride reguardless of tempreture if that have another mode of transportation or not. Both my bros look about 30lbs thicker before the short jaunt to work, ones already pretty thick around the middle They get so puffed up sometime their arms go numb by the time they get were they are going because the clothing cuts off the circulation, but they ride Today was the toy run and it was about 40 when the start show up time was and it warmed to about 56 with cold windy conditions. The bike count at the end was 153, not to bad. I got there somewhat early (around 10) and all the bikes that showed up after me were still wearing full leathers and about as many layers of cloths you could get under your jacket and chaps and still get the zipper shut. Full or partial baclava's 2 or 3 bandanas and either motorcross goggles or very large sunglasses. Folks stripped down about 1:30, but still had their leathers on. There was only one fatality during the run, a teddy bear bought the farm after a short fall from someones sissy bar. One you should apreciate, a bro from upstate dumped his bike coming it to hot at the shop, '80 shovle got scraped up a bit and he broke his coller bone, but hes doing alright.

Hows your wifes trike coming? Get it all done or waiting for the warm up to paint?

Haven't had my bike out for weeks. No one running theirs any more in Maine. Same thing with the Mustang. The cold isn't the problem. The problem is that the roads are such a wreck from all the snow and tons of salt. When I lived in Jersey I road year round cause the roads were not like up here. Now I find myself here in Maine for my first winter just standing in my garage depressed. Spring better come soon.

O k guys. After reading all your laments about winter riding I've come up with a great plan. Anyone ever do any home movies filming the country side with your old 8mm movie cameras? You know the ones we had before they invented camcoders. We'll project this onto the movie screen and get one of those treadmills and put it up in a heated garage and ride our bikes on the treadmill while watching these home movies. It'll look like we're riding outside in the summer! Hey c'mon guys it's the best I could come up with. Yeah! I know, I got way too much time on my hands. I'll even let you wear shorts while your riding, under or regular shorts, your choice

Dmorris, even if the roads were nice you would have to be pretty hardcore to ride in maine in winter. What is the avereage temp. there in lets say mid January, -20 , I don't know for sure, but it can't be warm.

38 if its in my garage with minimal wind and no chance of wind burn I think I'd be in the skins with a small floor fan a heat lamp and some dryer duct on the exhaust, because croaking over on your scoot is one thing, but in front of a projection screen neked with a heat lamp and fan is another

Just for you guys up in the north it was 64 today and lots of sun

Hey HK, they're forcasting down to -10F tonight. Burrrrrrrr. Yeah I imagine it's going to be a different ballgame up here than it was in Jersey. Funny thing is I'm pretty stubborn, have been out in some pretty cold weather just because I didn't want to be the guy backing out of a ride. I have thermals, chaps, jacket, etc., even a face mask for the real cold. Problem is I can't afford to rechrome my bike every spring and man the cold bites at ya up here. Now if I could just figure out where to put the treadmill. Or for those of you old enough to remember, maybe I could just park her in the living room and run straight pipes out the window at my neighbors house like in one of the old Cheech & Chong movies (think it was Up In Smoke).

38 around where I live there are alot of roads that arn't travled regularly and my bro at the time lived about 3 miles away on his families plantation. Long story short I was lit on fire and I got out of my pants as quick as I could and they were tossed on the bonfire. Since it was a summers night and all I had left was a cut up t-shirt it would have been odd if I did wear it on the ride home. Only two tips if you try it, keep off dirt roads (bros driveway was 1000ft of sandy dirt) and don't go over 35 windburn is as bad as sunburn but in a garage, more power to ya

Slider, your bro has got to have skin like an alligater
