I Need Help...

Damn if that ain't the truth...sigh...

Listen, I need someone here familiar with the early SBF to help me round up some parts. I would put this is PARTS WANTED but fear it would go unnoticed due to all the CHEV freaks here...

On the 62/63 221/260/289 was a Intake Manifold Crankcase Vent System (early PCV). There was an opening on the rear of the intake itself that took a basket to hold a filter and a plate/tube asm. sat on that for a crankcase vent source for the PCV. The system also used a unique front engine cover that had an oil fill pipe in it and the rocker covers were completely closed.

I need the;
  • Basket/Filter...
  • Plate and tube asm. that sits atop this opening...
  • Carburetor Spacer (This was aluminum) I can get by w/o this piece...
  • The early front cover w/ the oil fill pipe...
  • The closed rocker covers, either plain or raised FORD lettering (they were also available chromed with the dressup kit)...

Thumbnails are included to give some idea of appearance. The PCV pieces are 2V but similiar in appearance to the 4V installation.

Any help or leads will be appreciated. I know some of you have this stuff either laying around or on an old FAIRLANE out behind the barn.

THANX!

Did my very first engine build on one of those little 221's. Are you doing a "restore" or just rebuild on this one. If its just a rebuild most 260/289 parts will interchange. If it's a restore you might have to do some searching for the parts you're looking for. If memory serves there's a Ford specialty place in Oklahoma City that might have what you need. Try Obsolete Ford Parts Inc. Phone 405-631-3933.

Good luck.

Nah...I'm doing a performance looks old type of thing. I believe we called them sleepers in our day...

I was hoping someone might have this stuff laying around under their bench. Guess I will have to do it the hard way...

A friend of mine is restoring a couple of early K code Fairlanes.

He may have some or all of the parts you need.

Don is his name.

Wake up "sleeper", What are stuck in the 60s man?? I'm not sure Gary, I'll have to look at the stuff in the shop, but isn't that old style PCV set up the same as the one on the FE? If so I have a couple of those. Let me know if they are or I'll compare them when I go back in the shop.
