Ebay has a few 400s both long and short blocks. See if any of them are near your area.

Ive got a 400 pontiac motor. It needs to be bored out and rebuilt. As far as I know, its a 1970 block and it has the 4 bolt mains drilled and threaded, but it comes with 2 bolt caps. I have everything for the engine, intake to oil pan, minus timing chain cover. If your interested let me know, we could probably work something out. Ill post the casting numbers so you can do some research, im not 100% sure its a 70 block but it has 70 stamped on it right next to where the distributer goes.

DAMN, that's a helluva a deal!!! If I was closer I'd be all over it.....I'd probably end up divorced, but hey another project could fill the new found time!!! Hell a rebuildable 455 is worth that by itself!

I have the same exact car; WS6 suspention, 3.42 posi, flowmaster force 2 exhaust system, t-tops, shaker hood, fender flares, rear spoiler, power windows, power locks, tilt, 4-speed standard car. Its in primer, but the hood is red and still has the proud bird spreading his wings. There is not a spec of rust anywhere and the car is straight. Im trying to find a 455 for it right now. If anyone has a decent one laying around.

stereodud>>> I do have the heads for it, but they are the pressed studs and has the smaller valves. I would like to get at least $300 cuz thats what I payed for it. I was going to rebuild it, so its disassembled, but I would rather have the 455. I also have another 400ci complete, but apart. Its a 78 block I believe, 2 bolt main. the block is cracked under the intake manifold. Its repairable. This motor has some nice heads though, they have the screw in studs and have the 2.11 intake valves. I was planning on useing these parts for a 455 if I find one, but make an offer for both, or one, I might part with it.

I have a friend who goes to collage in cobleskill NY. Im up there alot, is that anywhere near you?

Iíve got a 1975 I think 400 Pontiac short block in the garage. Itís been in a bag, in a box since it was overhauled many years ago. The assembly lube has turned to varnish and would have to be disassembled and cleaned now. Iím about an hour and a half south of Austin off hwy 281.
